Civil eningeering students assist Clearview Golf Club

I admit it - being a civil engineer I have no choice but to highlight this story.

Yi’s students worked all semester on plans to help restore Clearview Golf Club in East Canton. Clearview was the first golf course designed, built, owned and operated by anAfrican-American, now-90-year-old William Powell, and it is on the Ohio and national registers of historic places.

Said Renee Powell when she addressed the class: “It’s pretty amazing what’s happening. It’s starting to mushroom. What you all have done is much greater than what you think you have done.”

Clearview project manager Michael Morsches said the presentations exceeded his expectations. “Not only do we have the designs, but they’ve also helped us identify issues we have to resolve to go forward,” Morsches said. “We are miles ahead of where we were.”
